Our Story

Food Insecurity effects children and families in every Michigan County.  In Michigan, 1 out of 7 children face hunger.  Sophia and Max became aware of Food Insecurity in 2020 while watching the news.  They saw long lines of people trying to safely obtain food for their families at food banks.  Locally they saw an increase in individuals collecting money at street intersections, and the local school district offering free meals to students whose families struggled.  Such examples emphasized the fact that Food insecurity is in all communities.

In 2020 they decided to take action.  They started an annual holiday food drive and were blessed by the generosity of the local community in the Detroit Metro area.  in 2021 and 2022, they collected more than 1,600 pounds of food for local charities.

They were fortunate to be featured in local news media and be recognized in a proclamation by the Troy, MI City Council and Mayor Ethan Baker.

Sophia and Max are now looking to help even more individuals by enlisting children everywhere, and broadening their efforts to support other causes.
